Skal Vi Danse?

Shall We Dance? is an intriguing investigation of the word dance. The film consists of a voice-over text and a collection of different visual narrations whose mutual arrangement seem to adapt to the spoken words. Combining the humoristic with a bone-dry seriousness, the film displays a sequence of peculiar snapshots, whose compositions and connotations reveal a choreography, in which the dancer is absent. Between documentary and fiction the film slides off the dance floor and asks a more universal question: “How Can We Know the Dancer from the Dance?” (Yeats)
