Berlinale:

The official poster of the
61st Berlin International Film Festival

Starting January 2011, the poster for the 61th International Film Festival Berlin will be presented on this page.

Key visuals of earlier festival editions can be found in the archive.

The poster for the Berlinale 2011 was created by designers of the Boros Agency. Just like in the last years, a single motif represents the entire Berlinale.

The 2011 Berlinale poster, which has a big “B” at its centre, was first on display at Potsdamer Platz. As of mid-January it was visible all over Berlin. What’s more, the poster’s motif adorned many of the Festival’s publications.

“‘B’ stands for the Berlinale as well as Berlin. In the background we decided to use luminous beams radiating outwards, a design element that goes back to poster art of the 1920s and alludes to the Berlinale’s extraordinary aura,” says the Boros Agency.
