Andrea lässt sich scheiden

Andrea Gets a Divorce
Rural police officer Andrea wants to end her unhappy marriage and start a new job as a detective inspector in the city. After a birthday party, her drunken soon-to-be ex-husband suddenly runs out in front of her car. In a state of shock, Andrea commits a hit-and-run. To her surprise, the religious education teacher and recovering alcoholic Franz confesses to the crime. He is convinced that he is to blame and everyone else in the village thinks so too. While Franz starts drinking again and staggers unerringly towards his doom, Andrea does everything in her power to cover her tracks.
In the Austrian countryside, comedy and tragedy are only a stone’s throw apart. In his second feature film, Josef Hader blends humour with melancholy as he takes a look at sad, drunken men and a woman with a plan.
