MAIN PARTNER OF THE BERLINALE (SINCE 2005)

The main media partner of the Berlinale produced all of the stage events in the Berlinale Palast – from the Berlinale opening ceremony to the Shooting Stars Awards, the presentation of the Honorary Bears and the International Jury award ceremony. As pool leader, ZDF provides TV images to countless national and international television broadcasters.

The festive Opening of the Berlinale 2012 was hosted by Anke Engelke and broadcasted live by ZDF's partner channel 3sat in the context of a "Kulturzeit extra" programme from 7:20 pm. On February 18, 3sat also presented a live broadcast of the highpoint of the Festival: the Golden and Silver Bear Awards Ceremony.

Four films in this year's Competition programme were co-produced by ZDF: Barbara by Christian Petzold, Gnade by Matthias Glasner, Tabu by Miguel Gomes dn Metéora by Spiros Stathoupolous.

Meetings for the industry and press events were held daily in the ZDF Lounge at the “mesa” of the Grand Hyatt Berlin.
