OFFICIAL BERLINALE PARTNER (SINCE 2006)
The GWFF (German film and television rights organization) founded the “Best First Feature Award”. The award donated with €50,000 was initiated by the GWFF and the Berlinale in 2006 and is shared between the director and the producer of a debut film in the sections Competition, Panorama, Generation, Perspektive Deutsches Kino and Forum. The “Best First Feature Award” is presented by a three-member jury during the Awards Ceremony in the Berlinale Palast. In addition to the prize money, the director of the winning film is given a high-quality viewfinder as a useful work tool.
The Jury 2012 composed of Hania Mroué (Festival Director, Lebanon), Moritz Rinke (author, Germany) and Matthew Modine (actor, USA) awarded Boudewijn Koole's debut film Kauwboy in the section Generation Kplus.
