Berlinale: EFM Registration


Information on EFM Registration

The Accreditation / EFM Registration period for the Berlin International Film Festival 2014 and the European Film Market starts in early November, 2013.


Please note that all information currently given on these pages refers to the Berlinale 2013 and is given subject to alteration in order to offer a general insight into accreditation procedures.

Every industry professional with an EFM registration and / or festival accreditation has access to the stands and offices of the European Film Market in the Martin-Gropius-Bau and Marriott Hotel.

However, EFM screenings can only be accessed with a Market Badge or Buyers Badge.

Types of Badges

  • Access to EFM Locations (Martin-Gropius-Bau and Marriott Hotel)
  • Access to EFM Screenings
  • Access to selected Berlinale press screenings (depending on capacity)
  • Access to selected official screenings of various festival sections
  • Access to the Producers Lounge and Panels in the Berlinale Co-Production Market
  • Access to the series German Cinema - LOLA@Berlinale
  • Log in for the Industry Area on the EFM website and mobile site / iPhone App
  • Log in for Cinando (valid through April 15, 2013)
  • Release in the online publications “Who’s Where” (Festival) and the "Participants List" (EFM)

The European Film Market issues a Buyers Badge only if you:

  • order a Market Badge and
  • click "Acquisitions" of your respective "Primary Working Sector" on the application form and
  • have been verified as a Buyer as defined by the Participation Guidelines

  • Access to festival screenings (every section, though not at all times, not at every venue)
  • Access to EFM Locations (Martin-Gropius-Bau and Marriott); professional guests with Market Badge or Multiple Day Pass are given priority access
  • Access to the section German Cinema - LOLA@Berlinale
  • Access to public events at the Berlinale Talent Campus
  • Publication in “Who’s Where”

  • Access to festival screenings (every section, though not at all times, not at every venue)
  • Access to EFM Screenings
  • Access to the series German Cinema - LOLA@Berlinale
  • Access to selected Berlinale press screenings (depending on capacity)
  • Access to EFM Locations (Martin-Gropius-Bau and Marriott Hotel)

The Multiple Day Pass is valid for the entire duration of the EFM. It is not valid for EFM screenings, nor festival and press screening.

The Daily Pass is valid for a particular day of the EFM. It is not valid for EFM, festival and press screenings. The Daily Pass is sold based on availability.

Accreditation application / Your professional supporting document

A precondition for EFM registration / festival accreditation is proof of current professional activity as a filmmaker or representative of the film industry, cultural institution or another film festival. When applying, please provide a document according to the following requirements.

In order to review your application, we need the following information:

  • your company’s field of activities (company profile with a detailed list of recent projects)
  • your area of responsibility / your position in the company

You can provide evidence of your professional affiliation by pointing us to an up-to-date website or by uploading relevant documents.

Please note that we do not provide an unlimited number of accreditations to any given company. We recommend that you register staff members in the order of internal priority. Only staff members with permanent positions in your company can be accredited.
