Pink Panther 2

When British actor Peter Sellers died in 1980 it looked as though the PINK PANTHER series had died along with him. Although the series’ inventor – US director Blake Edwards – released a sixth film (THE CURSE OF THE PINK PANTHER) two years after Seller’s death, this edition was unable to live up to the success of the films made between 1963 and 1978. Not until Steve Martin’s brilliant interpretation of the role played by Sellers in the 2006 prequel, THE PINK PANTHER, did the series replicate its former popularity. In this sequel, Steve Martin returns as the undaunted but clumsy French police inspector Jacques Clouseau.
Famous jewels are beginning to disappear around the world and, when the thief steals a legendary priceless diamond known as the ‘pink panther’, an international team of experts comes together to nail the criminal on the streets of Paris and Rome and retrieve the missing valuables. Chief inspector Dreyfus assigns his ‘best man’ – Clouseau – to the case. The inspector takes up his investigations, ably assisted by his partner Ponton and Nicole, the latter being the object of Clouseau’s clumsy advances. A cast of familiar, well-loved stars from all over the world are soon hot on the heels of this crime-fighting dream team – and of the most famous diamond in the world.
